Nashville, Tenn. — The United Methodist Church Foundation (UMCF) is celebrating 25 years of dedicated ministry by ushering in a new era with a name change and leadership appointment that reflect its unwavering commitment to service, stability, and mission-focused investment.
UMCF now operates under the name InvestUMC, aligning the organization’s identity more closely with its purpose and values. The new name reflects a continued commitment to investing in the mission and ministries of The United Methodist Church—while emphasizing the organization’s role as a steady partner in helping UMC ministries grow the resources they need to make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ. The new name captures both what we do and why we do it —we invest in the future of the UMC, and we do so in a manner consistent with the principles of the UMC. The website address remains investumc.org.
Alongside the name change, Ken Peterson has been named Chief Investment and Stakeholder Relations Officer. In this role, Peterson brings renewed focus to deepening relationships across the connection, enhancing transparency, and ensuring that InvestUMC remains responsive to the unique needs of its participants.
These developments build upon a strong foundation of service while introducing a strategic realignment aimed at improving client engagement and operational excellence. Among the initiatives underway:
Partnership-Driven Service – A commitment to work with ministry partners to help them reach their goals, while continuing to focus on investment performance.
Operational Excellence – Reviewing and refining policies and processes to ensure clarity and consistency in how InvestUMC serves its participants.
Clear Communication – Updating Investment Policy statements and participant materials to improve transparency and understanding.
As InvestUMC moves forward under new leadership, its mission remains steadfast: to provide United Methodist ministries with the resources, relationships, and confidence they need to steward their financial future with faith and purpose.
